Persimmon Festival

To reserve a free tree: click Reserve a spot button on the righthand side of the page. ➡️ Please note there is a two tree maximum per household, and one tree per species limit, thank you. Registration is not required to attend the event, but is needed to reserve a tree. If there are trees left over at the end of the event they will be given away first come, first served at noon. This community-focused event celebrates native persimmons with fun and educational activities for all ages. We’ll be giving away Missouri-native trees, hosting a storytime with the St. Louis Public Library, and programming tables from Missouri State Parks, EarthDance Organic Farm School, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Forestkeepers Network, and more! Come learn, connect, and celebrate persimmons! We’re also excited to welcome Bobby Norfolk, an internationally known storyteller, performer, and teaching artist, who will be performing in partnership with Royce Martin, the in-house pianist at Scott Joplin House State Historic Site. Because of you, we’ve given away over 275,000 FREE trees throughout Missouri and into Southern Illinois – so far. Your donations grow trees that change lives, strengthen neighborhoods, and build healthier, safer, and greener communities.
