Inspired by You with the Sad Eyes, a memoir by Christina Applegate, this intimate gathering invites you to slow down and settle into a thoughtfully curated space where words linger a little longer and connection unfolds with ease. Like the memoir itself, the evening is reflective, layered, and deeply human, offering a gentle exploration of identity, relationships, and the moments that shape us. Guests will arrive to a warm welcome and soft conversation before taking their place at a beautifully set table. Over a shared dinner, dialogue will unfold naturally, guided by subtle prompts that invite both lighthearted exchange and meaningful reflection. There is no pressure to perform or analyze, only an open invitation to engage, listen, and be present. We have a special local guest author, Caitlin Hatzenbuhler, joining us for this intimate evening to read from her book - "Vibrant Motherhood" - bridging the memoir's themes with practical insights and simple, intentional steps we can take to reconnect with our health, energy, and sense of self. This is not a traditional book club, but an immersive, sensory experience where atmosphere, conversation, and community come together. Candlelight, thoughtful details, and an intentional pace create space for something deeper, something felt. At the end of our evening, you are invited to bring a book you have read, and want to share with someone else as we have our first PBC book swap. Proceeds support survivors of domestic violence through Pilates Brunch Club. We work closely with HAVEN (Healthy Alternatives to Violent Environments) and believe survivors. Space is limited.
