Join us for a fun beginner bird walk and celebrate Migratory Bird Day up close and personal! Join us in person at the Cosumnes River Preserve to celebrate Migratory Bird Day with a fun and easygoing beginner bird walk! Whether you’re completely new to birdwatching or just looking for a relaxing way to spend some time outdoors, this walk is a great opportunity to learn the basics, explore the preserve, and discover the incredible migratory birds that call the Cosumnes River Preserve home. Our walk will be beginner-friendly, with plenty of opportunities to spot, identify, and learn about the birds around us. What to Bring • Binoculars – Bring your own if you have them! We will also have a limited number available to borrow. • Field guide – A bird field guide is encouraged, but we’ll have resources available to help with identification. • Comfortable walking shoes – We’ll be spending time outdoors on the trails. • Water and sun protection – Come prepared for the weather! Please avoid wearing white or other very bright colors. Neutral, earth-toned clothing can help you blend into your surroundings and make it easier to observe birds without startling them. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and a love for birds!
