The Full Moon reminds us of the duality of life and invites us to hold the tension of opposites. During Libra season, the Full Moon illuminates the opposite sign of Aries. Libra is the sign at the center of the zodiac and speaks to our relationship with others, balance, and reciprocity. Together, these energies invite us to explore the sacred space between self and other, independence and connection, and the ways these seeming opposites can exist in harmony. Tea is an ancient and sacred medicine, often considered the first medicine. This way of ceremonially drinking tea is connected to the Taiwanese and Zen traditions. Tea becomes our medicine, teacher, and friend. The tea we will share comes from old-growth tea forests, meaning the trees have grown on the land for centuries and generations of family farmers tend to these trees. The tea carries sacred wisdom, memory, and medicine that is waiting to be shared with you. During this tea ceremony, we gather in the fullness of the present moment to receive what the Full Moon illuminates. We are invited to hold the tension between what we have cultivated and what we are ready to release, between the desires of the self and the commitments of relationship, between holding on and letting go. We will attune to the heart, reflect on what we have harvested in our lives this year, and offer up what is weighing us down.
