Shadow Party: A Dream’s Garden Fundraiser

Step into the shadows. Dress as your shadow self and enjoy music, connection and purpose at Dream’s Garden’s Shadow Party Fundraiser. SHADOW PARTYA Dream’s Garden Fundraiser What if, for one night, you came dressed as the part of yourself you usually keep in the shadows? Dream’s Garden invites you to Shadow Party, an immersive fundraiser exploring identity, self expression and the parts of ourselves that don't always get invited into the light. On Friday, October 30, step into The 19th Hole for a night of music, costumes, connection, community and a little self discovery, with DJ SCAV setting the soundtrack for the evening. WHAT IS SHADOW WORK? “Shadow work” is a term commonly used to describe intentionally exploring the parts of ourselves we may hide, suppress, reject or simply not recognize. Your shadow doesn't have to mean something dark or negative. It might be your ambition. Your softness. Your anger. Your sensuality. Your power. Your inner child. Your rebel. Your protector. Your villain. Your hero. Or an entirely unexpected character that represents something within you that deserves to be seen. For Shadow Party, we're turning that idea into creative expression. DISCOVER YOUR SHADOW Before the party, use the AI platform you work with most and give it the prompt below. Copy + Paste This Prompt: “Based on what you know about me from our conversations, help me identify a fictional, mythological, literary, historical, pop culture or archetypal character who could represent my ‘shadow self.’ By shadow, I mean qualities, emotions, desires, strengths, fears or parts of my personality that I may suppress, protect, underestimate or not always express openly. Give me 3 to 5 possible characters or archetypes and briefly explain what each one could represent in me. Don't simply choose someone who looks like me or has my obvious personality traits. Look for the deeper contrast between how I present myself and what may exist underneath. Then help me choose one character that I could creatively interpret as a costume for Dream’s Garden's Shadow Party.” Then take what resonates and make it yours. And if all of that feels a little too deep, don't overthink it. A character, costume, look or energy you've always been drawn to can be your starting point too. Sometimes what catches our attention, fascinates us or makes us say, “I've always wanted to be that,” tells its own story. Come dressed as that character, archetype, energy or your own interpretation of your shadow. There is no required look. Costume. Fashion. Character. Color. Makeup. Symbolism. Minimalist. Full transformation. Express it however you choose.
