St. Joseph's Fall Academic Lecture

Join us in person or via live stream as we explore Pope Leo XIV’s powerful Encyclical Magnifica Humanitas with speaker, Dr. Meghan Sullivan Christianity and the Age of AI: Exploring the DELTA Framework for Understanding Powerful AI: Faith communities once stood at the center of society’s defining ethical debates on nuclear arms, civil rights, and bioethics. When the digital era dawned, they were largely left out of the conversation. As we move from a search-advertisement economy to one built on powerful large models and agentic AI, that absence matters more than ever. Join us at St. Joseph’s Seminary for a timely exploration of five concepts from the Christian ethical tradition and what they offer today’s debates over the development and deployment of AI. The lecture will also consider what theological and philosophical reflection can contribute in light of the current economic and political conditions surrounding the AI industry.
