Date & Time • Date: Sunday, October 25, 2026 • Check-in: 9:30 AM • Walkathon Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Location • Venue: Shirley Chisholm State Park • Address: 950 Fountain Ave (Cross streets: Fountain Ave & Seaview Ave) • CRITICAL ENTRANCE NOTE: You MUST enter through the Fountain Avenue entrance. The park has two separate entrances that lead to two different park sections. How the Walkathon Works Registration is mandatory to participate. You can sign up as an individual walker, get friends and family to sponsor your miles, be your own sponsor, or simply make a direct donation. Course Terrain: The walkathon takes place on a smooth, straight, and flat path. Distances & Sponsorship Goals: • 1 Loop (2.5 Miles): $50 fundraising target • 2 Loops (5 Miles / 5K Goal): $100 fundraising target • Individual Miles: $20 per mile (Note: completing just 1 mile will leave you in the middle of the park path, so completing the full 2.5-mile loop is recommended!) All donations collected via QR Code/online are strictly non-refundable. Directions & Parking Details • By Car: Take Exit 15 off the Belt Parkway. • Parking: Free limited parking is available inside the park, but space is shared with the general public. If the parking lot reaches capacity, guests will need to park outside in the surrounding residential area along Fountain Ave & Seaview Ave. • Public Transit: The B13 and Q8 bus lines drop off closest to the park entrance. Safety & Waivers • Waiver Required: All registered participants must sign a safety waiver at registration. • Trail Safety: The walkathon is strictly restricted to the flat, paved main path. Off-road gravel trails are not part of the walkathon route.
