Fix your tattered socks, sweaters, and knit textiles with a simple woven type of mending known as darning! In this sewing workshop in Seattle, Erin Eggenburg will teach you three different types of darning, and practice each technique on a provided sampler. In this three-hour workshop you will: • Learn what darning is. • Gain insight of darning materials and how to choose materials to use for a specific darning project. • Create a darning sampler using three darning techniques. Rather than donating your worn clothes or throwing them in the trash, you can give them new life with this easy mending trick! Bring your knits in need of darning, and leave with a plan for mending. Darning will be your favorite new sustainable DIY idea and will add small pops of color to your wardrobe. Please note: If you cannot attend class for any reason up to 48 hours before the class, an exchange to another Ugly Baby workshop will be offered. After that time, no refunds or exchanges are issued out of respect for the teachers who purchase and prepare supplies based on the number of attendees. Our current Covid protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants. Attendees will receive an email before the class to let them know If we will be requiring masks be worn.
