Behind the Gates Tour

Join us for an exclusive behind the gates driving tram tour led by Refuge Ranger Taymar. Tour starts 10am, Meet at visitor center lot. Tram will leave the Visitor Center parking lot at 10 am. Run time between 90 minutes to 2 hours. Tour is free of charge, fee just for entry into the refuge. Don't be late. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early enough to visit restroom prior to start time. Please pay attention to the following guidelines. 1. St. Marks NWR staff and volunteers are not liable for injuries, allergic reactions, or any acts of nature that occur during tour or on refuge property. 2. Pets are not allowed on any guided hike/tour. 3. Closed toed shoes are recomended. 4. For your comfort and enjoyment we suggest that you dress for the weather, layers are a good idea. 5. Practice pack it in, pack it out. Any trash, including biodegradable food and packaging, must be taken back with the attendee and disposed of off-site. 6. There will be no restrooms once behind the gates. If an attendee(s) needs to use bathroom, please plan accordingly. 7. Leave all plants and animals alone. DO NOT engage in any of the following:-Eating any leaves and/or berries found alongside trail-Approaching, handling, or attempting to feed any wildlife-Collecting any material, with the exception of trash, on refuge property. 8. Be aware. The refuge is home to venomous snakes, alligators, burrowing animals, and some endangered species. Stay safe, watch your step and try not to disturb any habitats or animals with loud noises. 9. Drink water to avoid dehydration even in cool temperatures. 10. Bring binoculars, camera, and bird books if you like.Space is limited.
