A Legacy in Chianti The roots of Casa di Monte trace back to the late 19th century when Angelo Oreste Simoncini began his agricultural pursuits in Montespertoli, producing straw used to create the world-famous Florentine hats. In 1912, he purchased the buildings and land that still form the heart of the estate today. The property is centered around a remarkable watchtower dating back to the year 1000, later expanded between the 14th and 17th centuries before becoming part of the working farm and winery that continues the family's legacy today.
