A free community session exploring the emotional work of modern fatherhood — for fathers, father figures, partners, families & loved ones. Fatherhood is about connection, emotional awareness, healing, and showing up in ways that help families thrive. The Loved Ones Program is an 8-session community series by TruDoulas of New Jersey, created specifically for the people who love and support pregnant and postpartum moms—fathers, partners, grandparents, aunties, siblings, friends, and anyone who wants to be part of a strong family village. This session, Beyond Providing: The Emotional Work of Modern Fatherhood, creates space to explore what modern fatherhood can look like beyond the traditional roles of provider and protector. Fathers are often taught to persevere silently, but emotional presence, self-awareness, and healing are also powerful parts of showing up for a family. What We'll Cover • How a father's unhealed pain can impact his children, relationships, and family • How unresolved wounds and inherited beliefs can shape the way men approach fatherhood • What it means to be emotionally present beyond simply being physically available • Practical ways fathers can strengthen emotional resilience and deepen connections with their children • How healing and connection can help build a healthier legacy for future generations Featured Speaker Nate Evans Jr., father and Founder & CEO of Nathan Evans Jr Group, challenges traditional narratives around masculinity and fatherhood through honest conversations about emotional wellness, healing, connection, and intentional fatherhood.
