Mad Ugly Split unevenly between Tucson and Tempe AZ, Mad Ugly started as a scrappy, fuzzy garage rock trio of Ty Rutkowski (guitar/vox) and Colin Murphy (bass) and revolving drummers with their sound being captured in their debut self titled 2025 EP. Bringing in Samba (lead guitar) and Ren Petersavage (drums), their songs evolved to a larger sound with jangly rhythm guitar and dual harmony leads all while maintaining their fuzz-drenched roots, immediately heard in their single "On the Nose / Mold." Mad Ugly brings brings a raw and real sound from their recordings and live sound, inspired by the 60's and 90's garage rock sound that they grew up listening to.
