Medicinal Plants, a UArizona Campus Arboretum tour.

Plants have been used for centuries to treat and remedy all sorts of ailments. On this small group tour, led by Master Gardeners you will Plants have been used by human beings as medicine for well over 60,000 years. The chemical compounds in plants remain the foundation of many medicines we use today. Join us for an overview of trees and plants in the Campus Arboretum that are well known for their medicinal properties. We will look at the science, traditional practices and current use of these plants--nature's medicine cabinet! Tour starts at the University of Arizona Memorial Fountain, west of Old Main at 8:00 am and last 60-90 minutes. Campus visitor parking is available in campus parking garages for a fee. Please bring water and a hat. Using a rating scale of 1 (least amount of walking) to 3 (more walking), this tour is rated 2.
