Preserving the Legacy of Black Wall Street

Join kinkofa at Tulsa Tech Week for a live conversation with Princetta Rudd Newman, Tulsa’s longest-running Black Wall Street tour guide and a first-generation descendant of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Princetta will talk about her family’s connection to Greenwood, the stories and photographs she has gathered over decades, and why so much of this history depends on preserving not only the records, but the names and memories that go with them. The conversation will also look at what Princetta is working on now: a documentary, the photobook series If These Bricks Could Talk, and the Black Wall Street Archive she is launching with kinkofa. We’ll talk about how technology can help organize and preserve this history so more of it remains available to families, researchers, and future generations.
