Free weekly after-school math on the UWS: puzzles, infinity and the fun math you never see in school. (Signup: piprojectcamp.org/interest) Signup: piprojectcamp.org/interest Scared of math? Good. This isn't school math. The Pi Project is a free weekly math club for students in grades 7-11, run by high schoolers who love this stuff. Each week starts with a question, like "are some infinities bigger than others?", and we work it out together in small groups until we can prove the answer. It's the type of math you'll see in camps like HCSSiM, MathILY, PROMYS, Ross, from kids who actually attended those. Algebra 1 is the only background you need. Kids who think they're "not math people" tend to find out they are. When: one weekday after school, 4:30-6:30 pm, starting mid-November Where: Upper West Side. The exact location will be emailed to everyone who registers. Cost: free Questions? Email [email protected] or visit piprojectcamp.org
