The Importance of Audience Segmentation Not all audiences engage with art in the same way, and understanding these differences is essential for building a successful creative career. This workshop explores how artists can identify, define, and strategically segment their audiences—from first-time buyers and emerging collectors to seasoned collectors, institutions, and community supporters. Participants will learn how tailoring messaging, pricing, and presentation to specific audience groups can significantly improve engagement, increase sales opportunities, and strengthen long-term relationships. The goal is to help artists move from speaking to “everyone” to intentionally connecting with the people most likely to support and invest in their work.
