Meet & Grief: Kintsugi Pottery Night

Join us for a night of kintsugi pottery! Through this art form, grief is externalized in a healthy and safe environment. We are proud to bring back our “Meet and Grief” Group for the upcoming season! This monthly group harnesses the power of creativity to explore grief nonverbally by connecting both sides of our brain to promote healing, as art helps us express our unique experiences of grief. In this edition of Meet & Grief, we will engage in the art form of kintsugi to process grief and the emotions that emerge from it. As a philosophy, kintsugi embraces breakage as a part of an object's history, choosing to mend it rather than conceal it. Similarly, grief allows for healing while preserving the experience of loss as part of one's story. Like the winding trails of gold, grief is a dynamic journey unique to each individual. Open to adults who have experienced a loss (death, chronic health issues, finances, divorce, career...), are non-judgmental, and open-minded about the grief of others. Each person may share as little or as much as they want. The focus is on the healing properties of creativity.
