The HBCU 250 is a special recognition and night to celebrate the very best of our HBCU alums in Washington, DC during CBC Week. Celebrating 250 HBCU Stars This year, America marks its 250th birthday, a milestone that belongs to all of us: the dreamers and the builders, the overlooked and the unstoppable. Few institutions tell that story better than our Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Born in the crucible of American history, HBCUs have never stood apart from the American narrative. They are the American narrative. For more than 150 years, they have educated the leaders, innovators, artists, and changemakers who built and reimagined this country against extraordinary odds. During Congressional Black Caucus Week 2026, we celebrate the very best of our HBCUs. The HBCU 250 honors the stars carrying that legacy forward today: leaders in business, government, tech, the arts, medicine, and public service who are shaping the country and elevating the culture right now.
