2026-27 Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra Season Subscription

A thrilling 5-concert Sunday afternoon series at Upper Darby HS's Theater. General admission, free parking, five concerts, one low price. Our season travels through American and poetic vistas, to a celebration of new voices! Opening with Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, our first concert features the Grand Canyon Suite (Grofé) and Pines of Rome (Respighi), with beautiful songs sung by acclaimed local soprana Lisa Willson DeNolfo. December's concert begins with orchestral music of motion, by Tchaikovsky, Price, Márquez, Herbert, and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride; we're then joined by the Upper Darby HS Choir in several beautiful works. In the Spring we welcome brilliant local cello soloist Amy Barston in Dvořâk's celebrated Cello Concerto, and perform Schumann's Symphony No. 1, 'Spring' - a poetic early preview of the season! Mahler's intensely personal music is a specialty of the LSO, and our April 4 concert is his Sixth Symphony, the "Tragic." We close the season by celebrating the future, with the winner(s) of the orchestra's Irving Ludwig Youth Competition performing alongside the full orchestra, and end with Brahms' magnificent Symphony No. 2 in D Major.
