Book Club: An Unexpected Life

Join us for our next Coastal Alchemy book club gathering as we discuss An Unexpected Life: A Memoir. In her final memoir, Gloria Steinem offers a candid, inspiring portrait of her early life and journey as an activist, while looking ahead to the next chapters of the fight for equality—a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of feminism’s most enduring voices. We’ll reflect on the book’s themes through open conversation and gentle prompts, leaving space for curiosity, listening, and shared perspective. There’s no pressure to finish the book, come as you are and share what stood out to you. Please bring your copy of the book (if you have it). Add-on: You’re welcome to purchase food or a drink from The Post to enjoy during book club. Whether you’ve read a few pages or spent time with the book cover to cover, this is a space to slow down, explore ideas, and connect with others who value thoughtful gathering and meaningful conversation. Expect grounded conversation, reflective moments, and a sense of community. We will let you know when copies of the book become available at Huxley & Hiro. Street parking is available on Delaware Ave and surrounding streets.
