Convoy Group School Safety and Security Symposium

A one-day, practitioner-led symposium for K-12 district leaders. No vendors. No pitches. Just the frameworks and decisions that matter. Schools today face a safety and security environment where physical safety, behavioral risk, online exposure, and emergency preparedness increasingly overlap — and too often, programs are built in fragments. This one-day symposium gives district leaders a clear, logical framework for doing exactly that — moving from strategic principles to practical implementation, across prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. No vendor expos. No product pitches. Just structure, sequencing, and the decisions that matter. BY THE END OF THIS SYMPOSIUM, ATTENDEES WILL LEAVE WITH: • A framework for structuring a comprehensive school safety and security program that integrates prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. • Clarity on how Threat & Vulnerability Assessments support prioritization, defensible decision-making, and PCCD grant compliance. • A working understanding of how Emergency Operations Plans, training, and exercises fit into a sustainable readiness model. • Insight into how behavioral threat assessment, early intervention, and online exposure monitoring reduce risk upstream — before an incident occurs. • A realistic picture of what law enforcement needs from schools, and how to structure that coordination before a crisis. • Practical perspective on the role of school resource officers and security personnel (SRO/SPO/SSO) in K-12 environments. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: • Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents • Principals and Assistant Principals • School Safety and Security Coordinators (SSSC) • Directors of Safety, Operations, Facilities, and Business Management • Student Services and Behavioral Health Leadership • IT and Communications Leadership involved in safety planning • Charter, Private, and Independent School Leadership • School Board Members and Trustees seeking defensible oversight • First Responders who work directly with schools FEATURED CONTRIBUTORS: Presented in collaboration with Convoy Group, Critical Response Group, Meridian Strategic Services, FOP Lodge 91, and leading practitioners in behavioral threat assessment and school safety coordination.
