Wild Indigo Writing Workshop: Writing the Future

The archive is not the limit of our imagination. What can poetry do with the unfinished work of history? This generative workshop explores the intersections of poetry, social movements, public history, archival research, and speculative writing. Working with documents, photographs, speeches, newspapers, protest materials, oral histories, and/or other traces of collective struggle, participants will consider how writers can engage the archive not only to recover what happened, but to imagine what remains possible. We'll explore documentary poetry, persona poems, and erasure through writing prompts that move between evidence and invention.
