What We Leave Behind: Stitching Food Memories | Workshop by Nour Hage

A two-hour participatory textile workshop continuing the exploration of food as a form of memory, belonging and inheritance. Using small pieces of paper dyed with coffee grounds collected from the restaurants in Alserkal Avenue, participants are invited to stitch into them a memory connected to food from home: a familiar dish, a taste, a shared meal or a moment that stays with them, a feeling, a smell... Through the act of stitching, memories are translated into marks, textures and fragments, allowing personal stories to take shape through material and gesture. The workshop offers a space for reflection, conversation and exchange, where individual memories become part of a growing collective artwork.
