Come as a stranger, leave as a friend. What makes a place feel like home to you? For our first Echt! Vienna Meetup, we'll explore this question together through guided conversations in small groups. We'll start out with some easy and fun questions about food, traditions and all the small things that make Korea or Austria feel like home. Then we'll go deeper: What makes you feel welcome? What makes you feel like an outsider? And what can other cultures teach us about our own? Who is the event for? Everyone is welcome. You don't have to be Korean or Austrian. Maybe you grew up here, recently moved to Vienna, lived in Korea, have a connection to another culture, or simply enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds and perspectives. Come as you are. Leave connected. Echt! Vienna Different cultures. Real connection. Echt! Vienna is organised by Enikö Balint and Julian Reininger. Enikö (Eni) is an IT project manager, consultant, and life counsellor in training with an international background and experience living in several countries, including five years in South Korea. Having worked across cultures and speaking six languages, she's passionate about bringing people together, fostering intercultural understanding, and creating spaces for genuine conversations and meaningful connections. With Echt! Vienna, she wants to help people build bridges across cultures and find a sense of belonging. Julian has an academic background in Social Work and Gender Studies, professional experience in international social work contexts, and a passion for intercultural understanding, he brings a broad perspective on how people experience the world. His travels across Japan, South Korea, Canada, the US, and Europe have further shaped his curiosity about different cultures. As a life counselor (LSB) working under supervision, he aims to foster open conversations, mutual understanding, and meaningful connections. Fluent in German and English, he also speaks conversational Japanese and basic Korean. With Echt! Vienna, he hopes to help people connect across cultures and find a sense of belonging.
