Turn an old Port Road banner into a unique reusable bag! Join Banners to Bags volunteers for a fun, hands-on upcycling workshop. Banner to Bag: Upcycled Bag Making Workshop Date: Tuesday 10 November Location: Ngutungka Henley Give an old Port Road banner a brand-new life! Join the wonderful Banners to Bags volunteers for a hands-on workshop where you’ll transform a retired Port Road banner into your very own reusable bag. Learn how discarded advertising banners can be given a second life rather than ending up in landfill, while creating something practical that you can take home and use again and again. The Banners to Bags volunteers will guide you through the process and help you turn a piece of Port Road history into a unique and useful bag. A little previous sewing experience is needed – come along, get creative and have a go! This workshop is part of Reimagined: From Waste to Wonder, our November exhibition celebrating creativity, recycling, reuse and the possibilities of turning everyday waste into something new. All materials are provided. Come along and turn banners into bags – one piece of waste at a time! Please note: • Stay at home if you are unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath. • Maintaining social distancing is the responsibility of the individual. The City of Charles Sturt would like to acknowledge the land we occupy today is the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the greater Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
