Ngutungka West Lakes is hosting a series of relaxed, welcoming art workshops where you can meet new people, get creative, and contribute to a community art project celebrating 🌈 rainbow identity, joy, pride and belonging. Following this series, come join for the celebration event ‘Standing Proud’ which will be part of Feast Festival, November 2026 at Ngutungka! Can't make all of the sessions? Not a problem! You're welcome to attend any or all sessions in the series, and there's no need to have joined previous workshops. 🎨 No artistic experience needed ☕ Low-cost event with all art and crafty materials provided 💜 Come on your own, with friends, or your chosen family. Bookings Essential. 🌈 $5 per session (plus booking fee) Workshop Dates: Sat 5 Sept (1.30pm-3.30pm) with Mitch Hearn Sat 12 Sept (1.30pm-3.30pm) with Lissy Elliott Sat 19 Sept (1.30pm-3.30pm) with Mitch Hearn Sat 26 Sept (1.30pm-3.30pm) with Lissy Elliott Sat 17th Oct (1.30pm-3.30pm) Final session -Mitch & Lissy About the artist Mitch Hearn Mitch is a queer multidisciplinary mixed media animator and illustrator working on Kaurna Country who has been teaching animation and illustration for over 15 years at various schools, libraries, gay bars, city councils and art galleries, and is currently lecturing at Adelaide University. When not working Mitch enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and eating weird, flavoured snack foods! About the artist Lissy Elliott Lissy is an SA based visual artist working with abstract painting, mixed media, and digital artforms who creates vibrant abstracts and digitally coloured free-hand drawings, exploring colour, texture, and emotion. As a proud member of the LGBTIQA+ community, Lissy has held solo exhibitions across Adelaide, featured as the Cover Artist for the 2024 Feast Festival program, and has original pieces with collectors across Australia. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Please note: While this workshop series is aimed at adults, if you're a young person aged 15+ and would like to join, please ask your parent or carer to contact us before booking a ticket, and we'll be happy to assist!
