Little Lenses, Big Discoveries: Adelaide South West Nature Photo Walk

Little Lenses, Big Discoveries 🌿📷 Little Lenses, Big Discoveries is a free family nature experience created especially for Nature Festival 2026, inspired by this year’s theme, Plant Beautiful Seeds. All community members are invited to explore the nature that exists right on our doorstep, from local parks and waterways to trails, trees and green spaces woven throughout Adelaide’s southwest. The adventure starts at Whitmore Square / Iparrityi Join us on Saturday 26 September, where your family can collect a special discovery map to guide you towards places of natural interest in the surrounding neighbourhood. However, before you set off spend some time enjoying simple, hands-on nature activities designed to spark curiosity, conversation and connection. And why not bring a picnic? Find a spot on the grass, enjoy lunch together and take the opportunity to meet and connect with other local families and community members. We’ll have up to 25 cameras available for children to share, giving our youngest explorers the chance to become nature photographers. Through their own little lenses, children can capture the parts of nature that fascinate, delight and inspire them. Photos taken will be shared in an exhibition at Minor Works Community Centre. Little Lenses, Big Discoveries is an invitation to spend time together, explore your neighbourhood differently and notice just how much nature exists within our city.
