Oaklands Wetland Tours 2026

Did you know this 'water factory' can clean up to 400 million litres of stormwater each year? The Oaklands Wetland is home to an extensive array of wildlife such as waders, cockatoos, ducks and many majestic river red gums. Learn how this system cleans water as it moves slowly through a series of ponds. It takes three days for the water to move through the wetland, where it can be injected into aquifers almost 100m below ground. More than 41 local parks and reserves, street trees and playing fields are irrigated with water from Oaklands Wetland.
