Australia Japan Society Queensland's Bonenkai 2026

New Connections. Fresh Perspectives. The AJS-QLD's Bonenkai - end-of-year party and networking evening. Bonenkai is Japan’s tradition of gathering to leave the year’s worries behind and celebrate together. Whether you’re studying, starting your career, a seasoned Japan hand or simply curious about Japan, come along to swap stories, reflect on the year and make new connections in a relaxed setting. The Society brings together people with an interest in Japan across business, the arts, government, the professions, academia and diplomacy. This evening is a chance to broaden your network beyond your usual circles, explore shared interests and spark conversations that could lead somewhere new. And we’ll be challenging your knowledge and ability to bond with your new contacts with a quick-fire trivia quiz. Plus we will also be presenting the Dr Fuji Chamberlain Award for achievement in Japan studies to outstanding students. Enjoy Japanese food provided by the Society while you mingle. Drinks are available to purchase from the bar. Please note: due to catering arrangements, refunds will not be available within three days of the event. Tickets are $15 per person
