Four New Australian Musicals - BCI Public Showcase

Four brand-new Australian musicals, written and developed right here in Ipswich. Join us for a special in-concert presentation of four original Australian family musicals, written by local writers and composers Will and Katie Toft. Over six months, the BeXD Creative Incubator (BCI) has brought together five talented young performers - Fraser, Charlee, Jade, Ariana and Maggie - to workshop and develop new musical theatre material alongside BeXD's creative team. Now, we're inviting you to join the magic! This special showcase will feature original songs and selections from all four musicals, performed in a concert-style presentation by our BCI ensemble. Rather than a fully staged production, this is an opportunity to hear new Australian musical theatre as it's being developed and celebrate the performers and creative team who have helped bring these works to life. Event Details Date: Saturday 1 May 2027 Venue: Studio188, Ipswich Time: 5 - 7pm Tickets: $20 per person Want to get involved before the showcase? We're also hosting a FREE Open Day Ensemble Workshop on Saturday 13 March 2027 at Firestation 101, Ipswich. Open to singers of all ages, including children, teenagers and adults, this workshop is your opportunity to learn original songs, explore ensemble material and contribute creative feedback to the development of the four musicals. Join us for the morning session (9:30am–12:30pm), afternoon session (1:30pm–4:30pm), or both!
