Prepared, Not Afraid: Media literacy, parenting and personal safety for multicultural women

Presented by ECCQ's Women's Ethnic Network Free half-day workshop. All women welcome. Navigating the digital world, raising teenagers, and staying safe in daily life can feel especially complex when you're bridging cultures. This workshop brings together three expert-led sessions designed to give multicultural women practical, real-world tools they can use straight away. Session 1: Media Literacy During Times of Crisis Spotting misinformation and responding safely, with facilitator Rita Jabri-Markwell, solicitor and community advocate. Session 2: Parenting Adolescents Across Cultures Confident conversations with your teenager, with facilitator Noor, counsellor, lawyer and parenting coach. Session 3: Personal Safety and Protective Behaviours Situational awareness, prevention and de-escalation, with facilitator Abbed Akbery, personal safety and protective behaviours educator.
