Walking Tour: Woolstores to the Powerhouse

A Walk from the Newstead Woolstores, including a look at Teneriffe Hill, then along the river to the Powerhouse. WE MEET at the Teneriffe Ferry Terminal at 8.30am, after which we will take the Riverwalk past the MacTaggart’s Woolstore, then join Macquarie Street to pass the Winchcombe Carson and London Woolstores. From Chermside Street, Teneriffe Drive will take us up to Teneriffe House. From the top of the hill, we’ll enjoy a brief ‘bush walk’ through Teneriffe Park to Beeston Street so as to view the site of the WWII US Navy submarine base. With luck we will have a peek inside Ansonia South woolstore. Next we head towards Cutters Landing then follow the river to the Powerhouse for a quick look inside. After that, it’s a short walk through New Farm Park when it will be time to think about coffee.
