The seminar will explore developments in China's climate, energy and industrial transition, with a particular focus on steel sector decarbonisation, low-carbon supply chains, and opportunities for Australia–China collaboration. We will be joined by special guests from Professor Xiliang Zhang's team at Tsinghua University, one of China's leading centres for research on climate change, energy systems and industrial decarbonisation. Program • Professor ZHANG Xiliang (Tsinghua University): presentation on China's climate, energy and industrial transition, and emerging policy and research priorities for achieving carbon neutrality. • Dr XIAN Jiaqing (Tsinghua University): presentation on low-carbon pathways for global steel supply chains and modelling analysis using the China-in-Global Energy Model (C-GEM). • Professor Frank Jotzo (CCEP, ANU): presentation on CCEP's Australia–China research collaborations and current work on industrial decarbonisation, green iron and steel, climate policy and energy transition.
