Finding Your Place in Cyber Security - Careers Garage

An interactive workshop for tertiary students from any discipline who want to discover where they might fit in the cyber security workforce. Where might I fit in cyber? The Cyber Careers Garage is a practical, interactive workshop delivered by the Canberra Cyber Hub to help tertiary students answer exactly that question, because not all cyber security experts wear hoodies and write code. Through guided discussion and hands-on activities, participants will explore the breadth of technical, non-technical and emerging roles in cyber, and work out how their own interests, strengths and area of study connect to them. Whether you study law, business, teaching, IT, engineering, communications or the humanities, you'll leave with a clearer picture of where you could fit, more confidence in the pathways that suit your goals, and practical next steps for pursuing a career that protects society. The workshop will be facilitated by Jakub Zverina, with UC's Cyber Security Program Director and Course Advisors available afterwards to talk through study options. Open to students from all disciplines and institutions, including UC, ANU, UNSW Canberra and CIT. Hosted at the University of Canberra, Building 1, Level C, Semesters (room)
