One night. Two sittings. Limited seats. Some of the best conversations don't happen on a stage. They happen around a dinner table. Join TEDxCanberra for a unique dining experience where incredible food, meaningful stories and unexpected connections come together for one unforgettable evening. For one night only, we're partnering with Café Stepping Stone in Dickson for an immersive shared dinner celebrating community, culture and the simple magic of bringing people together. Everyone will be seated at communal tables, encouraging the sharing of dishes, stories and conversation with people you may have never met before. Whether you come on your own or with friends, this is an evening designed to spark new connections and celebrate the wonderfully diverse community we're lucky to call Canberra home. What's included? Your ticket includes an all-inclusive shared dining experience featuring a menu inspired by the cultures, traditions and personal stories of Café Stepping Stone's chefs and team, including: • Aarti's Nepali Paneer Momos and Irina's Eastern European Walnut-Stuffed Eggplant to begin the evening. • Kyi Kyi's Build Your Own Mohingya - an immersive shared entrée where ingredients are placed in the centre of the table and guests build their own bowls together, just as families do around the dinner table in Myanmar. • Shared mains including Sakina's Afghani Vegetable Kofta served with Basmati Rice and a fresh seasonal urban farm salad. • Tarjina's traditional Bangladeshi Dimer Pudding (caramel-egg pudding) dessert to finish. • Unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. As each course is served, you'll hear the stories behind the dishes, the cultures they come from, and the people who brought them to life. But this is more than a shared meal. Throughout the evening, TEDxCanberra will weave in conversation starters, interactive table activations and thought-provoking moments designed to spark meaningful discussion and help you connect with the people around you. Whether you arrive with friends or take a seat beside someone you've never met, you'll leave with fresh perspectives, new connections and stories to tell. It's a dining experience designed to nourish not just your appetite, but your curiosity, your thinking and your sense of community. About Cafe Stepping Stone Café Stepping Stone is more than a café. As a social enterprise, it creates employment pathways, training opportunities and brighter futures for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. A portion of every ticket sold will directly support Café Stepping Stone and its community programs, so every meal shared helps create lasting impact. Choose your sitting To create an intimate experience, there are only two sittings available: • Sitting one: 5:30pm -7:00pm • Sitting two: 7:30pm - 9:00pm Please nominate your preferred sitting when booking. One night only This isn't just dinner. It's an opportunity to slow down, meet remarkable people, hear inspiring stories and experience food in the way it has brought communities together for generations.
