Wheel Throwing: Round 1 | 2027 | Tuesday evenings

Venue & ticket info

Spend five glorious weeks learning the art of wheel throwing & glazing! In this course, participants will be guided through every stage of the wheel-throwing process, from preparing and centring clay on the wheel through to shaping, trimming and glazing their finished pieces. Designed specifically for complete beginners, this course provides a supportive introduction to ceramics. For those with prior experience, tuition can be tailored to help build on existing skills and techniques. Working with clay is both a creative and mindful process. Through weekly practice, participants will develop confidence on the wheel while learning the fundamental techniques needed to continue their ceramics journey. Participants can expect to create a variety of functional pieces, including bowls, cups and plates. All work produced during the course will be glazed and stoneware fired, making it dishwasher, microwave and food safe. Classes are capped at six students, allowing for plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the course. With small class sizes, instruction can be tailored to suit each participant's goals, whether you are learning for the first time or refining existing skills. Classes are relaxed and welcoming, providing a supportive environment to learn, experiment and connect with others who share an interest in ceramics. The course fee includes all clay, materials, tools, glazing and firing. Finished work will be available for collection approximately two weeks after the final class.
