Children's Field Trip | Exploring Ecosystems

A morning of exploring for budding citizen scientists. Explore Charles Darwin National Park with members of the NT Herbarium and MAGNT Education teams. Learn how to recognise different plants and mangroves and observe and identify other flora and fauna in this important ecosystem. Return to MAGNT to complete activities with other budding botanists. The field trip bus will depart MAGNT at 8am. 7.45am | Check -in commences at entrance to MAGNT 8.00am | Field trip bus departs MAGNT 8.30am | Field walk commences from the shelter at the main car park 10.30am | Field trip bus departs Charles Darwin National Park 11:00am | Citizen Science activities continue at MAGNT 12.00pm | Pack up and pick up Suitable for ages 10 to 15 | Free | Bookings essential | Accompanying adult welcome This is a dedicated children's program. Adults can only attend if accompanying children. Appropriate closed in footwear for bush walking, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks and drink bottles are essential. Please be consideration of others and cancel your booking to free up tickets if you are no longer able to make it. Key Information Arrive at MAGNT between 7:45am and 7:55am to check-in before boarding the bus. Parents and carers who are unable to attend must complete a MAGNT Field Trip Permission Slip on check-in. MAGNT staff will have a basic field first aid kit. Please bring any medication you require to maintain your personal health and safety. The field trip will conclude in the Discovery Centre. MAGNT acknowledges the traditional owners of Country across the Northern Territory and beyond, and pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
