This popular holiday destination offers visitors delightful seaside experiences, historic character, thriving local food and wine scene and spectacular views across Port Phillip Bay. Our meeting place is the foreshore on the western side of the Portarlington Pier. Bicycle Network CEO will outline their Gimme 5 campaign, which calls for a dedicated government funding stream for cycling infrastructure. Bellarine BUG will share their vision for a network of shared trails connecting coastal villages, inland towns and key entry points that would position the Bellarine as a year-round eco tourism destination. The Member for Bellarine, local councillors and candidates in the upcoming state election will also be invited to attend. Leaving the Portarlington Pier, we’ll follow the Bellarine Coastal Trail westwards passing the caravan park, yacht club, miniature railway, playground, Pt Richards boat ramp until we reach the trail’s current endpoint. Before returning, gaze across the Bellarine hills to the vineyards beyond and imagine unlocking more of this stunning coastline with a shared trail to Drysdale.
