Introduction to Permaculture

Curious about permaculture but not sure where to start? Spend a full day learning the foundations of permaculture and how you can apply them to your own garden, home and community. This hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the principles of permaculture and, more importantly, how to put them into practice. We’ll explore how to work with nature rather than against it, build healthy soils, grow food, create resilient gardens and make the most of the resources you already have. Throughout the day we’ll look at permaculture ethics and principles, observation, garden design, soil health, water, plants, composting, food growing and creating productive ecosystems. You’ll have opportunities to get involved in practical activities and start thinking about your own space through a permaculture lens. You don’t need a big property or years of gardening experience; permaculture can be applied to backyards, balconies, community gardens and even small urban spaces. You’ll leave with: 🌱 A clear understanding of what permaculture is 🌿 Practical tools and techniques you can use at home 💧 An introduction to water-wise garden design 🌎 A better understanding of healthy soils and ecosystems 🥕 Ideas for creating productive and resilient gardens ✏️ The foundations for designing your own permaculture space Come along for a full day of learning, making, growing and connecting with the natural world.
