Exploring Abstract Photography

Get ready to see the world in a whole new way by capturing cool, artsy shots that break all the photography rules. Abstract photography is about looking beyond the obvious and finding interesting shapes, lines, textures, colours and patterns in the world around us. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how everyday objects and surroundings can become striking abstract images. We’ll experiment with different angles, perspectives, close-ups, light and composition to simplify a scene and bring attention to its visual elements. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to: • Identify abstract shapes, patterns, textures and details in everyday surroundings. • Use different angles, viewpoints and focal lengths to transform familiar subjects. • Apply composition techniques to create stronger abstract images. • Simplify a scene by focusing on shapes, lines and forms rather than the subject itself. Bring your camera, a fully charged battery and a memory card with plenty of space to shoot the day!
