NaturallyGC Bird Count and eDna Survey

Join our NaturallyGC team and participate in the Aussie Bird Count. Join the NaturallyGC team for a guided citizen science walk and take part in the Aussie Bird Count! During this outdoor activity, you'll complete two 20-minute birdwatching surveys, helping to identify and record local bird species using the BirdLife Australia Bird Count app. We'll also be joined by Watergum for a live eDNA sampling demonstration. Environmental DNA (eDNA) can reveal an incredible amount about the wildlife living in and around our waterways, detecting traces of fish, birds, mammals and more from a simple water sample. With unconfirmed platypus sightings reported in the Reedy Creek catchment, this sampling may even help determine whether platypus are present upstream, while providing fascinating insights into the biodiversity of the area.
