Pest Fishing Classic

Fish for a purpose and for prizes! Don’t let invasive fish be the ones that got away! Grab your fishing rod and join the City of Gold Coast and My Catch Australia for the annual Pest Fishing Classic. We’re calling on the community to help tackle invasive species like tilapia that threaten our waterways. No experience? No problem! Just bring your fishing gear – we’ll provide tips, suggested fishing locations, and friendly support from our headquarters team throughout the day. Whether you’re in it for conservation, recreation or family fun, there are major, minor and random prize draws up for grabs. Best of all, you don’t need to catch a fish to win a prize– simply take part on the day. Fishing takes place across the Gold Coast, with advice, weigh-in and presentations based at headquarters in Robina.
