Australian democracy is under mounting strain — trust is eroding, polarisation is rising, inequality is widening, and many of us feel increasingly pressured by soaring living costs, climate chaos and unaffordable housing. Dr Simon Longstaff, Executive Director of The Ethics Centre and founder of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas, examines how ethical leadership and civic courage can steady our nation and help rebuild the social trust essential for a fairer, kinder and resilient Australia.
