The ticket price of $259.50 on Eventbrite represents a Deposit of 30% of the full ticket price to show your intention to book your seat in this boutique style art workshop with Sonia. When you receive confirmation that your spot is held (with the deposit payment), you'll also receive an invoice by email for the balance of the ticketing fee - which becomes immediately payable to confirm your booking. Whispers Fragmented in Light with Sonia Farrell A multisession mixed media art retreat creating a large-scale artwork full of texture, movement, colour and form. This is more than just an art class — it’s a multi-session creative experience where you’ll be guided step by step through the process of creating a striking mixed media artwork on a large canvas. Using artist quality materials helps your painting look rich, vibrant and professionally finished, with archival quality so you can enjoy your masterpiece for many years to come. Workshop format This workshop runs over 3 main days, with an optional extra day included at no additional cost for those who would like more time to finish their artwork. Day 1 – Saturday 19 September 2026 10:00am – 3:30pm Prep & Plan, Texture and Mark Making Day 2 – Friday 25 September 2026 10:00am – 3:30pm approx. Flow and Paint Day 3 – Saturday 26 September 2026 10:00am – 3:30pm approx. Hooks, Paint and Finalise Optional Day 4 – Saturday 3 October 2026 10:00am – 3:30pm Extra Time to Finish Off Your Artwork This additional session is offered at no extra cost and is available for anyone who would like more time to complete their piece. You’re welcome to leave earlier if your artwork is finished. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes early each day. End times are approximate and may vary depending on your painting progress. What you’ll bring • A notebook for tips, notes and techniques • A water bottle and jumper • A big smile and an adventurous frame of mind What you’ll learn and do • How to prepare your canvas like a professional artist • Explore the concept of abstract artwork • Understand composition and planning while still leaving space for creative freedom • Choose from over 50 inspiration photos to help shape your unique artwork • Create exciting texturing techniques and processes • Learn how to mix colour with confidence and avoid muddy results • Build luminous layers using a range of artist-quality mediums • Identify the strong elements in your abstract artwork and learn how to enhance them while supporting the whole composition By the end of the retreat, you’ll have created a beautiful artwork you can feel proud of — one that reflects your creativity, your growth, and the things you love.
