Full description from organizer

Join Jess Hill for a powerful conversation marking the launch of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Spend an evening with Walkley-award-winning investigative journalist, author and educator Jess Hill, one of Australia's leading voices on preventing violence against women and children. Drawing on her acclaimed Stella Prize-winning book See What You Made Me Do, Jess will be in conversation exploring the realities of domestic abuse in Australia, examining the systems that can reinforce harm and the practical steps that can help create meaningful change. Combining rigorous research with compelling storytelling, See What You Made Me Do rethinks how to challenge and confront the prevalence of domestic abuse in our community. Jess Hill is the author of two Quarterly Essays, The Reckoning and Losing It, and the writer and presenter of two highly acclaimed docuseries on SBS and a popular podcast, The Trap. She was named Marie Claire's Changemaker of the Year in 2023 and the NSW Premier's Woman of Excellence in 2024. This event supports the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign encouraging community action towards equality, respect and safety for all.
