Ocarina Clay Workshop

Ocarinas are little clay whistles from Mesoamerica. Learn to make your own Ocarina with clay! Saturday 7th November 4pm - 6pm Ocarinas are little clay whistles from Mesoamerica. They are ancient musical instruments that often take the form of animals or people. They can be highly decorated and ornamented or very simple and smooth. This class will teach you how to make whistles out of a lovely clay, they will be painted in colourful slips and fired in the kiln. Charm your family and friends with a set of homemade ocarinas! You will get to colour your work with ceramic slip. Working with your hands and clay is good for you. It calms the mind and grounds the body. You will get to take your ceramic piece home with you (once it has been fired in the kiln - pickup aprox. 4 weeks after workshop). Workshops are held at my home studio and are intimate and cosy. Price includes clay, firing, ceramic colourants, and guidance from an experienced ceramicist. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience. BYO drinks & nibbles welcome.
