Ada's Tribe - Connecting Futures Meet Event: Melbourne September 2026

It's the time to be curious, learn and explore. Ada's Tribe is a community that empowers women in Data & AI to build confidence and careers through authentic connection. We aim to increase women and diverse voices shaping the responsible and safe use of Data & AI. Whether you are a leader in the field or just starting out, Ada's Tribe is where we connect. Connecting Futures Our Connecting Futures events bring women together in a fun, social atmosphere with Sci-Fi, Art and Future themes to deepen our connections and inspire critical thought about the futures being created around us, including our own careers. Together we consider how women and diverse voices are needed to embed human values, because we can all have influence in shaping what comes next. Visit to National Communications Museum This event on Saturday September 19th is visit to the "Radical Computing" exhibition at National Communication Museum's (NCM) in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Our visit coincides with the exhibition's opening weekend, so there'll be extra activities on including a drop-in workshop, a curator talk and demo talks (see the NCM website for the full program and timings). This exhibition is guest curated by Mel Huang Buntine and described as "a love letter to the personal computer", tracing computing's story from the raw energy of the Demoscene and hacker underground through to today's open-source and creative coding movements. Expect a hands-on trip through computing nostalgia, with vintage machines on display. Understanding how technology has evolved from the past, helps us to intentionally shape its future. Afterwards for those that would like to connect further, there is the invitation to continue the discussion nearby over coffee / drinks, connect deeper and explore current Data & AI topics. Who is this for? This event is open to those identifying as women who are curious about AI or working in Data & AI, at any career stage.
