Andy White // Merri Creek Tavern Northcote Nov 12

Belfast songwriter poet beat producer & lately Melbourne legend Andy White returns to his favourite venue in town for his biannual show. 40 years after the release of debut album Rave on Andy White, Irish songwriter Andy White is back at his favourite Melbourne venue with songs from a new album and to launch his third book of poetry Written to be Read Quickly. By turns witty, playful, profound, cerebral and soulful, Written to be Read Quickly takes us around the world in nearly fifty poems and lands us squarely back where we started but with a better perspective on what it means to be alive in a strange world that’s getting stranger all the time. Edited by Belfast novelist Robert McLiam Wilson, Written to be Read Quickly is published in paperback and limited edition hardback by Belfast studio Arthouse. Andy will have the only copies in Australia at the Melbourne launch. As well as reading, Andy will preview songs from his upcoming album a love story scheduled for release in 2027 and play selections from his catalogue including that auspicious 1986 debut for which he is recording a new podcast series, starting October 4. In the meantime, see at the show. It will sell out, so book your tickets right here!
