A supportive and calm environment, helping you enjoy being creative with your kids, knowing you don’t have to clean up afterwards! Toddler and pre-school Art Playgroup in the Inner West of Melbourne. Suits kids 1-5 years old (younger siblings welcome and free). What will we be doing? There will be a few different activities happening all at the same time, so the kids can walk around, move between things, change what they are doing, and choose something they are interested in. We will be outside in the back kids area of a cafe, doing lots of creative and arty things: • drawing, scribbling and stamping their hearts out • painting on the butchers paper on the tables • loose parts play • colouring in sheets on clipboards that they can walk around with • there will be a kids easel for them to stand up with • using my window crayons to draw on a mirror • and having lots of fun! These sessions are more about learning to love art, than creating any final masterpiece. The kids are always encouraged to express themselves however they like and be creative, so if they are more interested in mixing all the coloured paint together and putting handprints on the paper than anything else, it's more than fine! They will still enjoy themselves. :) Why should I come? • It's lots of fun. • Helps your child be creative and learn to love art. • An opportunity to do something different. • Meet new people – both you and your child. • Helps build fine motor skills. • Helps with pre-writing skills. • Can help teach kids that mess is ok, and making mistakes is ok too. • You don't have to think of an art activity to do at home. • You don't have to clean up afterwards! This is also a great way to give your kids the experience of painting and making lots of mess, if you the parent are a bit apprehensive about making that mess yourself at home. Come to my sessions and make the mess with me, keeping your house clean. There is no pressure and a very easy going environment. There will be lots of scribbles, there will be smooshes of paint that you can't recognise as a picture, and there will be some great photos that you can take. Extra info • Snacks and breastfeeding welcome. • I'll be taking photos throughout the morning and using them for marketing and promotional purposes. If you'd prefer your child is not included please simply let me know. • We will be painting, so please dress accordingly! • I have some art smocks, but only a limited amount. Depending on how many children attend, there may not be enough for all. If you have your own art smock please bring it along. • If your child has any allergies please let me know, as I often use recycled fruit cartons etc. • There is free car parking on the street. • Please be mindful that this is a cafe and they sell food. Yes you can bring snacks, but they would greatly appreciate it if you bought some things there! They sell coffee! Exchange and refund policy I know parenting can be tricky, and sleepless nights, sickness and tantrums occur. Firstly, if you're having a bad morning don't feel like you need to stay home, this is a group of parents and we will all understand. This is a safe space and meltdowns are fine! (in saying that, please bring snacks to help avoid hangry kids!) • All bookings made within 24 hours of purchase can receive a refund, no questions asked, just send me a request.
