Girls Work - Growing Together

Modern life can overwhelm girls with unrealistic beauty standards; with pressure to compare, compete, and be ‘nice’; and with an expectation to not take up too much space. Youth surveys reveal a staggering 90% to 95% of teenagers express some degree of negative body image or appearance-related anxiety. Evidence shows that Social media platforms heavily reinforce these anxieties. Through facilitated discussions, experiential processes, skills to take home and a rites of passage ritual, Growing Together is designed to: • Support girls and their caregivers in navigating harmful cultural messages • Develop healthy relationships and boundaries • Empower girls to trust their bodies, think for themselves, and strengthen their confidence • Give girls the experience of a group ritual at an important threshold in their lives I took the stars from my eyes and then I made a map And knew that somehow I could find my way back - Florence and The Machine
